Clinical Neuroscience

During last century Neuroscience as a novel interesting interdiscipline was emerged from combination of miscellaneous scientific fields including medical physiology, anatomical sciences, biochemistry, biology, neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, psychology, computer sciences, physic and..etc., aiming to address underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms of development and neurological disorder and provide beneficial preventive or therapeutic approaches for CNS diseases. Up to now, more than 20 branches in neuroscience have been introduced. In our country, Iran, both ministries of Health, and Medical Education and Ministry of Science, Research and Technology train experts in neuroscience with a Ph.D. degree named Neuroscience and Cognitive Neuroscience, respectively. Department of Neuroscience at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences is established by Prof. Farhoudi and our pioneer colleagues and first Ph.D. trainees start their program since 1393.  Like all other department of neuroscience in medical universities, our educational Ph.D. program at Tabriz University of medical sciences is attempted to cover all theoretical and practical materials from neurobiology, neurophysiology, neuroanatomy, regenerative medicine, neurogenesis, neuroendocrinology to cognitive neuroscience. Research priority of Department of Neuroscience is animal modelling of brain neurodegenerative diseases and stem cell therapy in order to discover underlying cellular or molecular mechanisms and introduce new therapeutic strategies.
